It is not hell
Yet, often, it is hellish.
Writing is not brutality
But can be brutal.
It is not real
But must be realistic
Which is why its flesh
And bones are the
Local and specific
To say something
Original and provocative
About the larger condition of
Frail humanity.
The exhibition will draw on the museum’s collections of Dr Magona’s manuscript materials, novels, poetry, short stories and drama, and will open towards the end of August. In the meantime, as we develop the exhibition, we’ll share some of her work and the other interesting things in the museum’s Magona collections.
